During our visits in remote villages, we noticed an important need to develop education.
This would give a chance to those children who are willing to work for a better future. Laos is one of the poorest countries in the world. About 60% of the population lives below the poverty limit. Even today, only 1 child out of 2 has the possibility to go to college, therefore the majority of them stops school very early (around 8 years old). A study* published in 2004-2005 showed that among children from 10 to 18 years old, there were 8 to 9% of boys and 14 to 18% of girls who had never been to school. This is mainly due to the lack of budget allocated locally to education. Today, mastering computer tools and English has become essential in a country where tourism is developing very quickly,
